State Senator Tony Munoz (D-Chicago) attended the announcement of La Casa as they begin taking applications for the upcoming 2012-2013 school year. “I was honored to join The Resurrection Project today to officially announce the completion of La Casa,” said Senator Munoz. “This wonderful new facility will provide students attending college an innovative community-based dormitory close to home in Pilsen. Not only will these students have the ability to experience dorm life, they will become closer to their community through internships and mentoring programs.”

For more than 20 years, The Resurrection Project has promoted the pursuit of education as the key to a successful future. La Casa is the culmination of work that will not only provide students a place to pursue their education, but also serve the community through their partnership with Instituto Del Progreso Latino. La Casa will provide a safe place for students wanting to attend college, many of whom are the first in their families to do so.
