Chicago Latino Film Festival is Underway

 Lawndale News Chicago's Bilingual Newspaper - Noticias LocalesThe International Latino Cultural Center of Chicago (ILCC) announced the lineup for the 28th Annual Chicago Latino Film Festival (CLFF) from April 13 through 26. CLFF will feature close to 140 feature-length and short films from Latin America, Spain, Portugal and the United States. All of the films will be shown in their original language with English subtitles (unless otherwise noted).

“This year’s Festival represents the great diversity of themes and genres of Latino filmmaking from the Latino diaspora. It serves as a vehicle to break the barriers created and perpetuated by stereotypes and provokes the audience to challenge mainstream ideas about Latino identity,” said Festival Director Pepe Vargas. “I encourage people from all backgrounds to immerse themselves in our culture by watching as many films as possible.”
