Shining a Spotlight on Chicago’s Green Champions

Adele S. Simmons and Hipolito “Paul” Roldan, two highly-respected and well-known civic leaders, will receive Lawndale News Chicago's Bilingual Newspaper - Businessprestigious awards for their outstanding leadership and vision in creating greener, more sustainable Chicago businesses, homes and practices. The nonprofit Delta Institute of Chicago – which performs vital work to grow the green economy – presents the awards during its annual fundraiser: “Partners in Change – Gleefully Green” on Wednesday, April 25, at Spertus Museum, 610 S. Michigan Ave.

The Partners in Change Award goes to Roldan, president and CEO of the Hispanic Housing Development Corporation, for making a significant difference in the green economy, in partnership with the Delta Institute. His organization developed more than 3,500 affordable apartments and townhomes in 45 sites for families and elderly residents of several Chicago Hispanic communities. Additionally, Roldan planned and organized Affordable Community Energy – a community-oriented energy services company targeting affordable housing.
