Latinos Progresando Celebrates Día del Niño

Lawndale News Chicago's Bilingual Newspaper - Local NewsMonday afternoon 400 children and their parents came out to celebrate Día del Niño (Day of the Child), hosted by Latinos Progresando at the Social Center in Little Village. The celebration included raffle prizes, health snacks, games, but also connect parents and schools to other service providers in their community. Silvana Tabares of Illinois’ 21st District joined in the celebration with the families. Established in 1998, Latinos Progresando builds a stronger community by providing access to resources families need to thrive: high-quality, affordable immigration legal services, including an initiative that reaches undocumented victims of domestic violence.
