Valoramás Announces Chicago Organizations to Receive Community Grants

Lawndale News Chicago's Bilingual Newspaper - BusinessValoramás, the Latino-focused online shopping membership community that gives back to Latino organizations, officially launched their $150,000 Valoramás Founders’ Grants Initiative and named the Latino-serving community organizations in Chicago who will divvy up the funding based on the online votes by Valoramás members. The company also announced that it will waive its $25 annual membership fee for 12 months to allow all consumers who participate in the three-week voting process, now through Sunday, May 20. Valoramás members will vote online to determine the grant amount that each of the organizations will receive. The grand prize winning organization in Chicago will receive $35,000 each in unrestricted funds; second place in each city will receive $17,500, with $10,000 going to the two third-prize winners. All other organizations will get $2,500 in unrestricted funds. The following organizations have been selected to participate in the $150,000 Valoramás Founders’ Grants Initiative; Corazón Community Services, El Hogar del Niño, Enlance Chicago, Instituto del Progreso Latino, Mujeres Latinas en Acción, Red Mexicana de Líderes y Organizaciones Migrantes, and Teatro Luna.
