NCLR’s Annual Conference Kicks-off With Record-Breaking Attendance

Lawndale News Chicago's Bilingual Newspaper - Local NewsThe National Council of La Raza (NCLR) kicked off their annual conference on Saturday, July 7 with a record number of participants. Among those present was U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder who was the keynote speaker for the National Affiliate Luncheon. Janet Murguía who is the president and CEO of NCLR was also in attendance.
“Yesterday was a fantastic beginning to what we expect to be one of our most successful Conferences yet and really set the tone for the next three days,” said Murguía.

Attendees were able to participate in discussions that focused on issues that are important to the Latino community. There were also free health screenings, informative demonstrations, and giveaways.
