As mariachi bands, green, white, and red flags, and an endless stream of delicious meals converge on the streets of Chicago through various festivals this weekend for the Mexican Independence Day celebrations, we would like to invite our readers to take a look inside and see how Mexican-Americans are shaping our culture through several platforms. From comedians, to fashion designers, and even a business man who decided to create a festival honoring the diversity of Mexican cuisine, this is a great time to reflect on all the wondrous contributions Mexicans and Mexican-Americans have made to the evolution of our daily lives.
