Recently, State Representative Elizabeth Hernandez, a strong advocate for early childhood education, met with Dr. Vincent Allocco, president and executive director and Maria Esther Lopez, director for Institutional Advancement and Leadership Connection from El Valor located at 2434 S. Kildare Ave., to discuss the plans for the new early childhood education center in the 24th district. This center is slated to open in January of 2013. El Valor is an organization focused on early childhood and youth enrichment, development of Hispanic leadership and being a model for inclusion of people with disabilities. Rep. Hernandez also had the opportunity to receive a tour of the facility and read a book to students.
