New Courses Open at NLEI

Lawndale News Chicago's Bilingual Newspaper - Education The National Latino Education Institute (NLEI) will begin two new professional training programs starting on Monday, Nov. 12th, at its main campus, 2011 West Pershing Road in Chicago.

Electronic Medical Records, a six-month program, prepares graduates to work with electronic medical records and health information in today’s competitive healthcare environment. Students will learn data entry, laws and ethics of electronic medical records, and medical terminology, among other subjects. The fee-based program includes an externship placement, and students are eligible for certification by the National Healthcare Association (NHA). Graduates enjoy careers in hospitals, clinics, medical offices, and long-term care facilities.

The Bilingual Medical Assistant program gives students hands-on training in lab procedures, medical law and health sciences, among other subjects. Graduates are eligible to earn the CMA certification by taking the AAMA national certification exam. Graduates can move on to careers with the help of NLEI, which has a 90 per cent placement rate in the Allied Health category.
