Northstar Lottery Group, the private manager of the Illinois Lottery, unveiled its fifth After School Advantage learning lab program on Tuesday. Located at Ebenezer Community Outreach in Chicago’s Lawndale neighborhood, the state-of-the-art After School Advantage Lab provides at-risk youth with a meaningful and productive experience during after school hours. Ebenezer Community Outreach is a staple in the Lawndale community and provides children between the ages of 5 – 17 years old with tutoring service and mentorship programs.

Northstar donated $15,000 in computer hardware, software, online technology and furniture to Ebenezer Community Outreach to build this After School Advantage lab, which is outfitted with a combination of Dell and iMac computers. In addition, Northstar employees voluntarily designed and installed the lab and many will remain active throughout the year, instructing students how to best use the equipment.

The After School Advantage program is part of a statewide community investment program by Northstar Lottery Group. Ebenezer Community Outreach’s After School Advantage lab in Chicago’s Lawndale neighborhood is the fifth of its kind opened by Northstar since July 2011 when it officially took over as the private manager of the Illinois Lottery.
