UNO Holds Annual ‘Day of the Dead’ Race

Lawndale News Chicago's Bilingual Newspaper - Local NewsThousands of families celebrated ‘Day of the Dead’ in the Pilsen neighborhood at the United Neighborhood Association (UNO) annual ‘Carrera de los Muertos’ (Day of the Dead) on November 3rd at Bartolome de las Casas School. Families had a chance to enjoy cultural festivities and take in neighborhood artwork. Proceeds will fund after-school programs at UNO’s network of 13 public charter schools. “This is one of Chicago’s most colorful and vibrant celebrations,” said Juan Rangel, UNO CEO, in a statement. “It provides an important opportunity for everyone to see and participate in one of Chicago’s culturally significant celebrations.”
