47th Ward Alderman Ameya Pawar, Principal Dr. Dignam, IL Senate President John Cullerton attended the National Blue Ribbon celebration at Lane Tech High School, 2501 W. Addison, on Friday, November 30, 2012.
On November 30, Lane Technical High School held a celebration in honor of having been named a National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education. Lane Tech was one of 269 schools honored by the Blue Ribbon Program for its academic excellence and significant progress in improving achievement levels among students. The celebration included several speakers, as well as numerous performances by Lane Tech students. Attendees included CPS CEO Barbara Byrd-Bennett, 47th Ward Alderman Ameya Pawar, Illinois State Representative Ann Williams, and Illinois Senate President John Cullerton.
