Three-time National Golden Gloves Light Welter Weight Boxing Champion David Diaz applauded Cicero Town President Larry Dominick for his work with children at a press conference Tuesday at Town Hall. Diaz, 36, said that after school programs Dominick has organized for the community have helped keep young children from joining street gangs but more importantly has given them options for their future careers. “President Larry Dominick has done so much for the Hispanic community and I am proud to call him my friend. Larry Dominick is a Champion in my book for all of the things that he has done for the community and for our kids.” Diaz was meeting with Dominick to announce a new program in the spring to provide mentoring for young kids through Clyde Park District in Cicero.
