Dance for Your Health

Lawndale News Chicago's Bilingual Newspaper - HealthIt’s almost time for men, women and children of all ages and sizes to “get their dance on” for the Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center’s Day of Dance for Your Health event on April 20 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. The event will take place at the Ukrainian Cultural Center, 2247 W. Chicago Ave., Chicago.

This year’s event combines the fun of dancing to different kinds of music, such as ballroom dancing, rock ‘n roll, jazz, salsa, swing, and hip-hop, with health screenings and consumer education on heart disease and other important health topics. Several of the hospital’s physicians will attend the event to offer services and consult with guests.

Coronary heart disease, which causes heart attack, is the single leading cause of death for American men and women. Day of Dance gives the medical center’s health care team an opportunity to extend their services beyond the hospital setting to educate consumers about a variety of cardiovascular conditions, such as atrial fibrillation, stroke and more.
