Gads Hill Center to Host Community Health Fair

Lawndale News Chicago's Bilingual Newspaper - HealthGads Hill Center will host an outside community health fair at 1919 W. Cullerton on May 31, from 3p.m., to 6 p.m. The Health Fair focuses on health activities and eating. The fair includes a Playstreets activity with aerobics, soccer, a bounce house and other fun, vigorous physical activities.

Organized by middle school students as part of a project to expand health resources in the community, the fair also includes presentations on the dangers of obesity and tobacco, along with healthy cooking demonstrations by Sodexo. Alivio Medical Center will offer information about diabetes prevention and management. Students will also exhibit photos about barriers and supports to healthy eating in the community. The event is open to the public and families are encouraged to attend. Food and giveaways will also be provided to those who participate in the event.
