Tobolski Honored as Public Servant of the Year by West Suburban Chamber of Commerce

On April 17th Cook County Commissioner Jeff Tobolski was honored by the West Suburban Chamber of Commerce as the “Public Servant of the Year” at their 2013 Awards Dinner.

The event took place at the William Tell Holiday Inn in Countryside, and other recipients included Thom Serafin as “Business Leader of the Year,” Matthew Serafin as “Young Person of the Year,” and Daniel Pancake as the receipt of the President’s Award.

Commissioner Tobolski was specifically honored for being instrumental in the areas of creating jobs, lowering taxes, and strengthening local relationships with non-profits.

As Mayor of McCook, Tobolski reduced a $2.5 Million deficit, while increasing personnel on the Police, Fire, and Public Works Departments without raising taxes. And as Cook County Commissioner Tobolski has also been instrumental in reducing the Cook County budget, repealing the Stroger Sales tax, and implementing reforms to make Cook County government more transparent and accountable.

Commissioner Tobolski is the Founder of the Lyons-McCook Business Association, an Executive Committee Memmber of the West Central Municipal Conference of Mayors, and a member of the Aging Well program of Aging Care Connections, the LaGrange Business Association, and West Central Chamber of Commerce.
