Health Seminars, Cooking Demonstrations to be Held in Latino Neighborhoods

 Lawndale News Chicago's Bilingual Newspaper - HealthUnitedHealthcare will host educational seminars in Chicago to help Hispanic-American seniors and other beneficiaries learn more about Medicare and their health care coverage options. Following the seminars, attendees will participate in a cooking demonstration to help them learn how to prepare a traditional Latin meal in a healthier way. The seminars and cooking demonstrations aim to help improve the health and well-being of the more than 27,400 Hispanic-American Medicare beneficiaries in the Chicago area. During the cooking demonstration, participants will learn tips and alternatives to make their favorite Latin meals healthier. Chef Elizabeth Chaidez, chef and owner of Sprig Catering, will lead the cooking demonstration. Events will be held:

  • Tuesday, Oct. 22, 10:30 a.m., at Villa Guadalupe Senior Services, 3201 E. 91 St., Chicago
  • Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2 p.m., at Ma3 Healthcare Solutions, 6236 Cermak Road, Berwyn
  • Thursday, Oct. 24, 10 a.m., at Kelvyn Park Senior Satellite Center, 2715 N. Cicero Ave., Chicago
