Lawndale News Chicago's Bilingual Newspaper - Education

This year, the Chicago Public Library’s One Book, One Chicago program explores the idea of migration through the selection of Isabel Wilkerson’s acclaimed book The Warmth of Other Suns.

Throughout December, CPL, along with the Chicago Public Library Foundation, All State and BMO Harris, will continue to host fascinating dialogues about migration in a series of programs free and open to the public.

Author David M. Kennedy will be headlining a variety of these programs, including a discussion about his book Freedom from Fear.

One Book, One Chicago is a community reading initiative launched in Chicago in 2001.  One Book, One Chicago seeks to engage people in the culture of reading by selecting a book that is particularly relevant to the Chicago experience.
