West Suburban Senior Services Announces January 2014 Events Schedule

West Suburban Senior Services recently released fliers of its January programs. These programs help elderly citizens on issues concerning finance, safety and hospice care.

The following lists West Suburban Senior Services’ events. To schedule a consultation, call the Westlake Senior Center at (866) 938-7256. Walk-ins also welcome.

Accessing Services for Seniors
Every Monday morning at the Westlake Senior Center, staff members will be available to provide information and assist with applications for federal, state, and local programs available to seniors. Every Monday in January from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Benefit Access Applications (formerly Circuit Breaker)
Low-income senior residents may be eligible for transit assistance. Those eligible will receive a “Ride Free” transit card and a $75 license plate. Those in need can learn more about the program or re-apply to receive transit benefits on Wednesday, January 8th and 29th from 8:30 to 11:00 am at the Westlake Senior Center.

Solutions Care worker Jasmine Lopez will assist you in your Benefit Access application.

Senior Assistance Program
Solutions for Care staff members assist famlies with questions about personal safety, problems, care and Medicare benefits for seniors on Wednesday, January 8th. 16th, and 22nd from 8:30 to 11:00 am at the Westlake Senior Center.

Journey of Grief
Season’s Hospice and Palliative care will hold a support group session for those who are coping with the loss of a loved one on Wednesday, January 8th from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the Westlake Senior Center.
