Visual And Performing Arts Take Center Stage At The Chicago Public Library

This upcoming February The Chicago Public Library keeps the talent fires burning with its Visual and Performing Arts programs, including contemporary dance, classical music, art & music exhibitions and its continued patron participation musical talent show series.

All performance events take place in the Cindy Pritzker Auditorium, Lower Level, at the Harold Washington Library Center, 400 S. State St.

The following is just a sample of CPL’s not to be missed programs:

Secretos, Conexiones y Revelaciones
Monday, Feb. 3 at 6 p.m.
• This enjoyable evening of live music by Akoustikirtan and dance performance by Silvita Diaz Brown Danzas, promises to inspire through a fusion of contemporary dance, poetry and dancing.

Hidden Talent 7: Happy Valentine’s Day
Friday, Feb. 14 at 12:15 p.m.
• It’s Valentine’s Day and patrons of the Music Practice Rooms star in CPL’s seventh annual talent showcase celebrating love.

Murmurs: An installation by Selva Aparicio
Exhibit open from January 10 through February 21, 2014
• Artist Selva Aparicio celebrates the wonders of insects through this exhibition inspired by the transitory nature of life.
