Clinard Dance Theatre and the Logan Center present the world premiere of Chicago’s Watershed: A 156-Mile Choreography at the University of Chicago’s Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts, 915 E. 60th Street, on Friday, June 27 and Saturday, June 28 at 8p.m. In developing the work, choreographer Wendy Clinard has taken Stravinsky’s revolutionary The Rite of Spring as a starting point for an examination of the ebb and flow of life along the Chicago River. The music is presented in stripped down form in an arrangement for four-hands performed by the EStrella Duo and accompanied by Dmitry Samarov’s video-projected ink work. At the heart of the piece is Wendy Clinard’s unique style of American flamenco, presenting in Chicago’s Watershed a rhythmic dialogue between city, man and river. Tickets for the performances are on sale now through the UChicago Arts box office, located at 915 E. 60th Street, by phone at 773.702.ARTS, or online at ticketsweb.uchicago.edu.
