‘Remembrance’

Prospectus Art Gallery cordially invites you to an outstanding exhibition, titled “Remembrance,” a group exhibition in different media remembering Master Alejandro Nava. Nava was a Mexican Contemporary painter and printmaker born in San Luis Potosi on August 10th, 1956. At 18 years-old, Nava studied painting at the Art Institute of Zacatecas. In 1977, he studied printmaking at the José Guadalupe Posada Museum of Aguascalientes, the same year he obtained a scholarship from the state of Zacatecas to study at the Siqueiros workshop in Cuernavaca, Morelos. Nava was a great pioneer through the “Julio Ruelas” workshop in Zacatecas city. This past February, Nava passed away.

Alejandro Nava’s work has been exhibiting widely in important museums and galleries in Mexico, Europe and the United Sates of America, among them: “Villa Joya” Painting Biennial, Madrid, Spain; McCormick Place International Gallery, Chicago; Museum of Fine Art, Mexico City; National Museum of Mexican Art, Chicago; Museum of Modern Art, Mexico city; National Printmaking Museum, Mexico city. Prospectus Art Gallery, located in the Pilsen neighborhood, will hold an opening reception on Friday, July 11th from 5p.m, to 10p.m. The exhibition will run from July 11th through August 1st.
