Nearly 15,000 parents and students are now better equipped to choose a school that is the best fit for them, following ParentPowerChicago’s historic Chicago School Fair at McCormick Place this past weekend. The two-day fair, created by an organization that is dedicated to supporting parents, brought together more than 200 schools from throughout the city: public, private, parochial, charter, elementary and high schools, plus online and home-schooling resources.

It was the first time that Chicago Public Schools (CPS), Archdiocese of Chicago and the Illinois Network of Charter Schools have exhibited under one roof, enabling parents to conveniently explore a full range of options to meet their children’s interests, needs and learning styles. CPS showcased all of its school types: traditional neighborhood schools, charters, magnet, military academies and selective enrollment.

ParentPowerChicago’s mission is to equip parents with the information, support and inspiration they need to help their children succeed in school and in life. ParentPowerChicago also has a 24-hour Helpline for parents: (773) 907-2777.
