Verizon Presents Nueva Latina Estrella Award in Business to Chicagoan

Lawndale News Chicago's Bilingual Newspaper - Business

Verizon announced the winners of its annual Nueva Latina Estrella Awards in business, education, community service and healthcare at the annual Mujeres Latinas en Accion Leadership Awards Luncheon. Jessica Priego, founder and president of JPriego Communications, was named winner for business leadership with an exemplary dedication to philanthropy and community service. More than 400 Latinas from across the Midwest were nominated over four months and a review panel of business, community and civic leaders made the final selection. As Latinas increasingly flex their consumer muscle, corporations are paying closer attention to this key demographic of bilingual, bicultural and educated women. An award like the Nueva Estrella is important both for the recipients in recognition of their hard work and success as well as for the sponsor as it brings them closer to this key consumer group. Priego’s work is centered on public relations, marketing, community relations and diversity communications. The firm’s client roster includes groups such as the United Center – home of the Chicago Bulls and Chicago Blackhawks, Car Outlet/Total Finance, Planned Parenthood of Illinois, and Wolf Management Consulting.
