Carlos and Dominguez Art Gallery Celebrates Women’s Day

Independent organizer Amara Betty Martin and the Carlos & Dominguez Fine Art Gallery collaborate to present a one night multimedia exhibition in honor of International Women’s Day and Women’s movements across the globe on March 7th. International Women’s Day celebration brings together art, music, and culture featuring over 20 local visual and musical artists. On Saturday, March 7th at Carlos & Dominguez, 1358 W. Cullerton, the public can help celebrate International Women’s Day for “Voces de Mujeres” a celebration of the talents and strengths of female artists living and working in Chicago. The Carlos and Dominguez Fine Arts Gallery in Pilsen promotes from North, Central, and South America showing paints, sculptures, photography, and mixed media art. This exhibition will feature music and art by an all female ensemble. Representing Pilsen will be Las Manzanitas a Ranchera style Trio bringing traditional Mexican folk music to the present. Vivian Garcia a local musician in the flamenco/blues style and member of Esso: Afrojam Funkbeat will be doing an intimate set. Musical sets will also be provided by local DJ’s Telmusia and The Ponderers.
