Car Outlet announced its annual scholarship program for students pursuing higher education. The Chicago-based company, a pillar of car services in the Latino community for over 15 years, is offering ten $1,500 community-based scholarships and five $5,000 internal family scholarships available to students who meet eligibility criteria and are selected by an external review committee for the third year in a row. The scholarships are to be applied directly to tuition and other academic expenses in the 2015/2016 academic year. “When we launched the program in 2013 we knew there was a very real need for more funding opportunities for students seeking higher education in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs and cities,” Charles Serlin, chief operating officer at Car Outlet said. This year’s scholarship outreach campaign will include a grassroots outreach campaign urging students and parents to visit the program’s website for information on eligibility and how to apply.

Abigail Romo, double major in psychology and apparel merchandising with a minor in business at Dominican University and 2014 Car Outlet scholarship winner successfully adjusted to her first semester in college finishing with straight A’s and on the Dean’s List. “My hard work has paid off because I was awarded the Car Outlet scholarship,” Romo said. “This scholarship motivated me to continue to work hard because it showed me that when one works hard, you begin to create opportunities for yourself, doors will open for you and people will genuinely want to help you.” To learn more about the Car Outlet Driving Success Education Scholarship Program, visit www.DrivingSuccessScholarship.com.
