Latino Art Beat, now in its 18th year, will premiere the final-cut of its indie short feature film titled “The Dance,” on April 25th at 11a.m., at the Lake Theatre, 1022 W. Lake Street, Oak Park, IL. Over the past ten years in addition to offering its milestone art competition and awarding millions in scholarship funding, Latino Art Beat has sought additional ways in which to encourage young Latinos (and young students in general) on from education to careers. As part of its visual arts component, Latino Art Beat added film to its repertoire. After successfully releasing previous films written and directed by students, next week Latino Art Beat will premiere its latest film, “The Dance.” “The Dance” is a story about the exploits of teenage Ernesto and his quest to find a date for his high schools 50th anniversary dance. The premiere screening is free admission and features theme music by Nick Tangorra and the Nick Tangorra Band.
