Girls Get Tech Savvy at Triton College

More than 160 girls received the STEM experience of a lifetime on March 21st at Tech Savvy hosted by Triton College. Tech Savvy, a program of the American Association of University Women (AAUW), exposed girls in grades sixth through ninth grades to STEM-related topics, including career pathways, through hands-on workshops and guest speakers. The event kicked off with breakfast, followed by inspirational remarks by keynote speaker Safia Abdalla, co-founder and executive director of Data Science for America, a non-profit that connects talented data scientists with local non-profits and grassroots organizations to solve problems in their communities and use the power of data analytics to help these organizations work efficiently and effectively.
