Illinois Works Pre-Apprenticeship Construction Program Announces July 2024 Cohort Enrollment Period Now Open

Mayor Robert J. Lovero welcomes the spring 2024 Cohort Class for the Illinois Works Pre-Apprenticeship Program participants as they begin to embark in new careers in the construction and build trades industry. The first open enrollment period began in February 2024 with the spring cohort initiating on March 12, 2024. A summer 2024 cohort has been announced and will begin on Monday, July 8, 2024. At the completion of the program, a diverse group of qualified candidates will gain new skills and be work-ready for careers in the construction industry and building trades, including industry recognized certifications/credentials, such as:

• NCCER Core or NABTU Certification

• OSHA 10-Hour Construction Certification

• First Aid/CPR Certification

Rincon Family Services, a 501-c-3 non-for-profit with a location in the City of Berwyn (1241 S. Oak Park Ave.) is the partner agency with whom the city has collaborated with to promote and encourage all eligible persons in around our communities to apply to this workforce readiness program. If you missed registering for the first cohort, you still have an opportunity to enroll for the next cohort.
