Young voters stood outside the Chicago Board of Elections, 69 W. Washington, Saturday, March 28th to express their support for Mayoral candidate Jesus “Chuy” Garcia in the April 7th election. Speakers shared their stories and touched upon issues, including education, violence, and unemployment that directly impact young people. One speaker said Chicago youth have been left out of the decision making conversation and solution process. “Chicago needs young people to succeed, but offers no space in which we can engage in city governance. This election offers a unique opportunity to bring in a progressive era for real youth engagement. It’s time to vote for change, it’s time to vote for “Chuy,” said Berto Aguayo, who was one of the speakers at the rally.
