Lollapalooza fans will be descending upon Chicago’s Grant Park by the thousands this weekend, ready to enjoy one of the nation’s most popular summer music festivals. Metra is adding service to allow concertgoers to focus on the music and not the headaches of sitting in traffic and finding a place to park. Beginning Friday, July 31 through Sunday, Aug. 2, Metra will provide extra trains, expand passenger capacity and adjust schedules on eight of its eleven lines to accommodate the increased number riders we expect during Lollapalooza. Full schedules for each line are available on www.metrarail.com. Metra is also offering a special, $10 train pass for the three-day event, which makes traveling by train even easier and more economical for concertgoers. The special-event ticket is on sale at Metra ticket windows but will also be sold onboard Metra trains on July 31 after 9:30 a.m.
