Alderman Cardenas in conjunction with The Riot Fest Foundation announces the fests job fair on August 10th and 11th, 2015 from 3-8pm at the Douglas Park Field house Ballroom. Alderman Cardenas stated, “Jobs are a great way to start relationships between the Riot Fest Foundation and the community. We must bring opportunity to the community through employment and entertainment.” The Alderman and the RFF invite Lawndale neighborhood residents to attend the fair. The jobs will be open for pre and post fest projects with Riot Fest being held September 11th-13th, 2015. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, be able to stand for 8+ hours per day and able to lift 20+lbs. The job fair allows fest promoters to give back to the community where they play and live. The fest promoters have held job fairs at their previous location giving much needed employment to area residents. The Foundation has donated more than $150,000 for improvements at the previous park beyond the usual repairs from the fest. The RFF will again invest money back into Douglas Park long after the fest is gone. The improvement money is a gift that keeps giving.
