On Thursday, August 20th, from 11am to 2pm, Gads Hill Center will host its annual Back-to-School PlayStreets Day on the 1900 block of West Cullerton, in the Pilsen neighborhood. This annual event will provide an opportunity for community members, youth and their families to engage in safe, recreational activities. The event will kick-off the back-to-school season with backpack and school supply distribution to nearly 100 youth participants of Club Learn, Gads Hill Center’s out-of-school time enrichment program. PlayStreets events close off traffic and transform neighborhood streets into safe spaces for children and families to play and exercise. Each four-hour event converts neighborhood streets into an urban oasis featuring games, sports, a bounce house, fitness classes and more. PlayStreets aims to improve health in communities with limited green space by engaging residents in physical activity and promoting healthy lifestyles.
