Chicago Public Library is “Celebrating Diversity” with its observance of Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 – October 15, 2015, featuring a variety of programs highlighting the culture, traditions and contributions of Hispanic and Latino residents who trace their roots to Spain, Mexico and the Spanish speaking nations of Central America, South America and the Caribbean.

The Library’s Opening Program for Hispanic Heritage Month takes place on Saturday, September 12 at 2:00 p.m., at the Toman Branch, 2708 S. Pulaski Rd. Join us for a performance from the Windsome Quintet as they introduce listeners to the many facets of Hispanic music. From Tango to Opera to traditional folk songs, the group offers an entertaining journey into a wide world of music and culture. For a complete listing of programs, visit one of the many Chicago Public Library locations or the Library’s website at chipublib.org.
