Cook County Commissioner Luis Arroyo Jr. Announces Cook County Board Recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month

Cook County Commissioner Luis Arroyo Jr. successfully presented two resolutions that celebrate the contributions of Cook County’s Latino communities. National Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated September 15th through October 15th.

Resolution 15-2986 acknowledges the contributions of Latinos in the United States and Cook County. The resolution encourages all Cook County residents to partake in the many celebrations, festivities and activities in honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month. Illinois Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Member, Guillermo Garcia, accepted the Resolution presented by Cook County Commissioner Luis Arroyo Jr.

Resolution 15-2987 acknowledges the contemporary programming, developmental and cultural contributions made by the Puerto Rican Arts Alliance and its director Carlos Hernandez in honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month. PRAA Executive Director, Carlos Hernandez, accepted the Resolution presented by Cook County Commissioner Luis Arroyo Jr. “Latinos have made and continue to make major contributions in the military, arts, education, mathematics, science, literature, technology and philanthropy fields both in Cook County and the world. I stand with my colleagues on the Cook County Board in acknowledging and celebrating the Latino community,” Commissioner Arroyo said.
