In an effort to better serve the Spanish-speaking families of Cook County, Recorder of Deeds Karen A. Yarbrough is launching a Spanish-language website portal containing translations of CookRecorder.com’s most helpful online resources. “As more people become aware of the importance of the Recorder of Deeds’ office and keeping a watchful eye out for fraud against their property, it has become critical that our office do more to make valuable information available to Cook County residents,” said Yarbrough. “By strengthening our commitment to Hispanic and Latino families, we strengthen Cook County.”

The Cook County Recorder of Deeds Office accurately records, stores and maintains land records and other official documents in perpetuity for public and private use, facilitating home ownership and mortgage lending. CCRD’s new Spanish-Language Web Portal – found at CookRecorder.com/Espanol – will host translations of the agencies’ most popular online resources, including a step-by-step guide on how to use the website to inspect a property’s chronological history for documents that should not be there, how to sign up for CCRD’s free Property Fraud Alert system, information about CCRD’s Military and Veterans Discount Card, and all the most frequently-asked questions about the daily business of CCRD. In addition to a Spanish-Language Web Portal, the Recorder’s Office also maintains a direct Spanish Hotline, at (312) 603-3981.
