The Great Escape Coming to Chicago

Lawndale News Chicago's Bilingual Newspaper - Local News

The exciting concept that is sweeping the nation will open its doors to the public in the Chicago area this spring. The Great Escape Room, which originated in Orlando, Florida, is an extraordinary game for adults, teens and corporate team building. Up to 12 people at a time will enter one of two real-life escape rooms based on the popular computer and mobile phone escape games the door will be locked behind them. Each team has 60 minutes to find clues and solve puzzles to escape. The part scavenger hunt, part puzzle game, and part mystery challenge will allow teams to compete with each other or against the clock. The brain building, mind twisting game is full of fun and adventure, but only 22 percent of those with creative skills are able to meet the challenge and escape within 60 minutes. Co-founder and operator Howard Sakowitz is amazed that what started as a weekly puzzle he shared with college students transitioned so smoothly into the escape room genre. Find out what all the excitement is about and plot your own escape. To keep up with our plans and where we will open please visit the website, www.TheGreatEscapeRoom.com.
