12th ward-Alderman George Cardenas announces two new Divvy stations in the McKinley Park neighborhood of the 12th ward. The stations will be mounted at Ashland and Pershing and Damen and Pershing each with 11 docks. The expanded bike lane on Pershing has brought new growth to the area through scenic bike riding. “A 21st Century neighborhood needs 21st Century amenities such as Divvy to attract housing, tourism and recreational growth. McKinley Park is the Historic Geographic Center of Chicago and will continue to be one bike ride at a time,” said Ald. Cardenas The current McKinley Park stations service a large number of residents and inner city travelers from the neighborhood to Downtown and the Lakefront. Students and residents are said to be excited as biking grows. The Divvy stations are just in time for Alderman Cardenas’ 12th Ward Bike parade in June 2016.
