The McKinleyPark.org website, a source for news and event information for the McKinley Park neighborhood of Chicago, has just relaunched with new features and updated content, according to publisher Justin Kerr. On the web at http://mckinleypark.org, the site now supports mobile devices and the neighborhood’s three predominant languages of English, Spanish and Chinese. “It’s important to speak to all audiences in the neighborhood,” Kerr said. “Our community is mostly Hispanic with growing numbers of Chinese. Supporting multiple languages will hopefully inform many neighbors of local issues and spread word about the fun events and great community groups in McKinley Park.”

Local residents, organizations and enterprises can submit their event information to the website by emailing info@mckinleypark.org. The main requirement is that an event should take place within the McKinley Park community area; more information is available on the website. Collaborators in translating and other site development are welcome, and Kerr plans to begin outreach to gauge interest on who might want to get involved. For now, any interested neighbor can send email to justin@mckinleypark.org with questions and ideas about the website.
