Carrying anti-gentrification signs, hundreds of families took over the 606 Trail in a march on Tuesday, May 17th to vocalize their distress over the displacement issue in Logan Square and urge elected officials to create solutions. The march was part of Logan Square Neighborhood Association (LSNA) 54th Annual Congress aimed to protect long-time residents near the 606 Trail from future displacement. Prior to the march families assembled inside Stowe Elementary School to share their concerns and solutions with several aldermen including Alderman Roberto Maldonado, Alderman Milly Santiago, and Alderman Carlos Rosa to name a few. The purpose of the meeting was for elected officials and families to work together to create tangible solutions so that Logan Square families can feel reassured of their place in their community.
