On Monday, State Rep. Camille Lilly, D-Chicago, held her Education Taskforce to bring in community ideas to help create new ideas for better Illinois’ elementary and secondary school policies. “No one knows students better than their parents, so I want to make sure we ask them for their ideas for proactive school policies,” said Lilly. “As an education advocate in Springfield, I plan to take the ideas we discussed last night to continue the fight for better schooling for our younger students.”

Lilly started the local Education Taskforce to help initiate plans and ideas for better early schooling policies for students. Constituents from across Lilly’s district participated in this event to lend their ear and propose new ideas for their own school districts that could be added to a future bill proposal. Some topics discussed were Senate Bill 231 and House Joint Resolution Constitutional Amendment 57. Lilly represents the 78th District, which includes parts of Chicago, Elmwood Park, Melrose Park, Franklin Park, Oak Park, and River Grove.
