Willowbrook resident Consuelo Mendez won a $50,000 Powerball prize when her ticket matched four numbers, plus the Powerball number, in the Saturday, July 30 drawing. The winning numbers were – 11 – 17 – 21 – 23 – 32 – and the Powerball number was 5. Mendez has lived in Willowbrook for 35 years. She was at home when she checked the winning Powerball numbers on the Illinois Lottery website and discovered her win. She plans to invest and donate to her favorite charities. “It has always been very important to me that I give to charities and now I believe that if you give, you get!” The winning ticket was purchased at Speedway, 6241 South Cass Avenue in Westmont.
