Fifth Annual National Medicare Education Week Comes to Chicago and Cook County

Lawndale News Chicago's Bilingual Newspaper - Health

UnitedHealthcare invites baby boomers, Medicare beneficiaries, and caregivers to learn more about their Medicare options at free educational events in the Chicago area as part of National Medicare Education Week (Sept. 15-21). The goal is to equip people with the tools and information they need to make informed health care decisions before the start of the annual Medicare Open Enrollment Period in October. This year Mayor Sandra Bury and Mayor Rahm Emanuel officially proclaimed Sept. 15 through 21 as Chicago and Oak Lawn Medicare Education Week, respectively. In addition, local UnitedHealthcare representatives will be available to speak one-on-one. Walgreens will be onsite to offer pneumonia and/or flu vaccinations at the Des Plaines event. Attendees will also be able to participate in a fitness demonstration through the SilverSneakers® program at the Des Plaines event.
