On Wednesday, Aug. 31st, the Saint Anthony Hospital Foundation hosted its largest annual fundraiser to raise money and awareness for both the immediate needs of the hospital, as well as Focal Point, a first-of-its-kind community campus with a strategic mix of education, recreation, arts and retail anchored by a new state-of the-art Saint Anthony Hospital. The event began at 11 a.m. on Lemont’s championship golf course Cog Hill and concluded with cocktails, dinner, an auction and awards. State Senator Martin Sandoval served as emcee. Sandoval was born and grew up in The Back of Yards neighborhood on Chicago’s southwest side. He was sworn into office in 2003 and was one of four Latinos to be elected to the Illinois Senate for the 93rd General Assembly. His core beliefs are rooted in the community, and he is actively involved in several nonprofit organizations. Sandoval serves on the board of Catholic Charities of Chicago and Save-A-Life Foundation, and has received numerous community and public service awards for his dedication.
