Alderman George Cardenas will host his 13th Annual Toy Drive to distribute over 3,000 toys. The annual event is a part of his Gift of Giving Campaign to increase residents awareness of their neighbors in need. The 12th Ward has some of the highest poverty rates in Chicago and this event is part of easing that struggle. Alderman Cardenas states, “The Gift of Giving is an immense creative venture to ensure that residents and their families have a joyful holiday season. From distributing over 700 turkeys at Thanksgiving to 3,000 toys at Christmas, I continue to bring hope and prosperity into homes. I ask my neighbors, friends and family of this great Ward to join the Gift of Giving by donating new, unwrapped gifts to help the neediest.
