The Día de la Mujer Latina Health Fiesta is a national non-for-profit organization advocating healthy issues among Latinas across the county. This month, Día de la Mujer will host two health fairs in Chicago on Thursday, April 6th at Arturo Velasquez Institute, 2800 S. Western Ave, beginning at 9a.m., to 3p.m., and the second health fair on Saturday, April 15th in Waukegan at Waukegan High School, 2325 Brookside Avenue, Waukegan, IL beginning at 9a.m. The first 600 women will receive gift bags. The health fairs are an opportunity for the medically underserved to have a free or low cost breast and cervical cancer education/screening, in addition to HIV tests, vision tests, diabetes and blood pressure to name a few. Día de la Mujer Health Fiestas will include, Pap smear exams, seminars on the types of vaccinations, Zumba for adults and children and so much more.
