On Monday, the Congressional Progressive Caucus PAC announced they are endorsing Jesus “Chuy” Garcia to be the next Congressman representing Illinois 4th Congressional district. The Congressional Progressive Caucus (CPC) is the largest values-based caucus in the House of Representatives with 75 members.  Established in 1991, the CPC reflects the diversity and strength of the American people and seeks to give voice to the needs and aspirations of all Americans and to build a more just and humane society.   “I’m honored to receive this endorsement from the Progressive Caucus,” said Chuy Garcia.  “If elected, I will join the Progressive Caucus on day 1 to fight for economic justice, energy independence and the preservation of civil rights and liberties.” “Chuy Garcia has been a progressive champion throughout his entire life,” said CPC co-chair Mark Pocan (D-WI).  “From taking on the Chicago machine to traveling the country with Bernie Sanders building a national progressive movement, working families in this country have a true advocate and champion in Chuy Garcia.” The Congressional Progressive Caucus joins other prominent progressive leaders like Senator Bernie Sanders, Democracy for America, Our Revolution Illinois and others in endorsing Chuy Garcia.
