On January 19th, 2018 the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) announced that a panel of independent reviewers has completed its examination of the Town’s Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR) and has awarded the Town with the GFOA Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2016. “The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has given an Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting to the Town of Cicero, Illinois, for its Popular Annual Financial Report for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2016. The Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting is a prestigious national award recognizing conformance with the Highest standards for preparation of state and local government popular Reports.” This represents the Town’s seventh (7th) consecutive Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting. The GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving approximately 17,500 government finance professionals with offices in Chicago, IL, and Washington, D.C.
