Mayor Emanuel and the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events have designated 2018 as the Year of Creative Youth – a citywide celebration of Chicago’s young artists and the mentors who inspire them. Presented by Allstate Insurance Company, the Year of Creative Youth will also feature young artists and their work at City of Chicago festivals, exhibitions and events throughout the year. As part of this initiative, DCASE is launching #BornCreative to highlight the artistic work of Chicago’s young artists. Art, music and performances posted with the hashtag #BornCreative will be highlighted on social media and reviewed for a chance to be featured at the upcoming Creative Youth Festival on September 22 in Millennium Park. Teens and young adults are invited to share their art, music and performances on social media with hashtag #BornCreative to be featured online and possibly at the Creative Youth Festival on September 22 in Millennium Park.
