Each spring the Members of the U.S. House of Representatives sponsor a nation-wide high school art competition. The Congressional Art Competition is open to all high school students in the 4th District. The overall winner of our district’s competition will be displayed for one year in the U.S. Capital. The exhibit in Washington will include artwork from other contest winners nationwide. The competition is open to middle and high school students in 7th through 12th grade. Artwork and Student Release Forms must be submitted to the district office located 3240 W. Fullerton Chicago, IL 60647 by Thursday, April 26th, 2018 before 5p.m. This year’s theme is “Who are you, the real you? How have social issues and the realities facing our country, city, and communities, shaped who you really are?” Artwork medium many include, works on paper, painting, photography, mixed media. Artwork entered into the contest may be up to 26” x 26” and 4” deep. All entries must be original in concept design and execution.
